Planning and Building

We are Providing Virtual Services During COVID-19

Although the Permit Center counter is closed, we are providing support for some existing permit applications and ongoing projects. This includes Public Works, Planning, Building and Fire Prevention services. Staff will review electronic applications remotely while the shelter in place order is in effect. Please be patient with delays. Refer to our COVID-19 page and see Permit Center and Development Services.

Pending Reach Codes Could Affect Your Project

Reach codes affect residential and nonresidential new construction. They do not apply to remodels or alterations. The California Energy Commission (CEC) may approve the City’s reach code ordinance in January. If approved the ordinance will go into effect Jan. 14, 2021.
Get the details on how reach codes could affect your project.
