Community Awards Nominations

Do you know a person, group, business or nonprofit out there making a difference in the Sunnyvale community? Nominate them for the City's 2018 Community Awards and help us celebrate some of the people and organizations that make Sunnyvale a great place.

The Sunnyvale Mayor and City Councilmembers will present the 2018 Community Awards at the State of the City event on Saturday, Sept. 15, in Downtown Sunnyvale.

How to make a nomination

Submit nominations for the following categories:

  • Distinguished Resident of the Year
  • Educator of the Year
  • High School Student of the Year
  • Business of the Year
  • Contribution to the Arts
  • Environmental Achievement

Find further information, including criteria for each award and what to include in the nomination letter, on the nomination form.

List of previous award winners

Nominations are due by Aug. 17

Past winners are ineligible to receive an award in the same category for five years. All nominations will be reviewed by a committee of past winners. Award decisions will be shared with all nominators by the end of August.

Recreation Registration System Offline 6/20

Starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, the Activities Registration system will be offline for an upgrade. While the system is offline, you may make registrations or reservations by phone or in person at the Sunnyvale Community Center.
